Well I didn't expect that.

Well two months ago I posted about the minor issues with blood coming out of my throat, and the fantastic response from the NHS.I told of the point where they were going to cauterize the back of my throat, the speed of the diagnosis and response.

Of course the has been a minor issue with strikes, this led to we are having to move your appointment, not good but okay, new appointment time and place I gave my RSVPs and eagerly awaited my deep throat event (just call me Linda) and I went yesterday.

So my much awaited end to the blood and swallowing it saga was finished.

Nooo,no it's turned out that I am going to have to find another forum to lurk on the sidelines of, yes just like that nice nick Robinson off the radio I have throat cancer, yea isn't that nice.

So after a night when strangely I wasn't able to drop off so much so that I got up and watched Blake's 7 on britbox nearly at the end of season one, Avalon had been caught by the baddies and servalan is about to enter stage left so I still have half of episode 7 to watch tonight.

But while watching I had some thoughts, I realised that I have been here before two years ago this morning Mr R and the anesthetic gas passer who looked like hardy Kruger and has the same accent cracked me open and fiddled around, and just before that I signed a paper saying that I understood that I might not wake up. I also realised that I really hate the description "fight cancer" I am going to deal with it, so should anyone reply leave any description of combat out, I think deal is a positive attitude friendly optimistic and more suited to my outlook.

Anyway I now eagerly wait for a scan, biopsy and kemo/radio and vomiting.

What a way to celebrate my second anniversary.

Time for a visit to the very greasy spoon for deep fried colesteral and lard.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

Thanks, strange as it seems I don't mind, having a answer means that something can be done. And forward motion is always a good idea, well unless you are standing on a cliff then backwards is often a good choice πŸ˜€.

Thank you I am not sure about stoicism, but it's laugh or cry time, and I look awful when I cry

So let's add "humour" to the list of your admirable virtues!

Respect.

I'm really sorry to hear of your diagnosis and wish you well with your treatment.I understand where you're coming from when you say that now you know what it is you can move forward and deal with it. I've had breast cancer and waiting weeks for biopsy results is the worst thing; once I knew what was happening at least I could get my head round it and move on.

My best wishes for the future

Lily

Thank you.Mr A seems to think that it's early, so I am going with that. After all consultant's are never ever ever wrong, well mostly not, okay they can be a bit out with the diagnosis but he has a fantastic bedside manner.

Well I was should have died two years ago, have a severe cardiac jobby, and decide to have a coffee before we go to the hospital. That didn't get me so now I will deal with my passenger, he is rather irritating. And could interfere with my long term ambition to not die,

Thank you for responding, it's strange how much difference a answer on this sort of post makes.

I think it's just nice to know that people care I am 9 weeks past a new aortic valve and 2 weeks ago collapsed and was back in with blood pressure problems had the same happen this week but they didn't keep me in just changed meds I hate that as mosts meds upset my stomach despite being on Omeprazole and Peptac I am on the aortic pre and post op group and have found them so supportive

So as you say go lurk on the edge of another group Keep us all updated I will thinking of you and sending a few prayers that you will beat this too
