Currently lying in AAU (acute assessment unit) waiting on results of tests. Woke up 3am this morning, went for wee and felt a bit giddy with some chest discomfort. Bearing in mind how mild my HA symptoms were back in November rang 111. Ambulance called and because I now have a heart history been taken in for tests. ECGs are OK but some elevation with troponin although not that high. Waiting on 2nd blood results.Bit of a bummer as was doing really well.

Hello
I am so sorry to read your post and where you are at the moment but you did the right thing getting yourself in there
Waiting for those second blood results to come back I always found so stressful and time seemed to go so slow
I hope yours come back soon and keeping fingers crossed it is good news when they do
Please if you can let us know how you get on x
Thanks, glad to see you backGetting a full MOT. Troponin level stable around 32 so up but not worryingly. I had a "blip" at rehab on friday where I felt giddy during cool down and was made to lie down. BP had dropped to 80/60! Took a while to get me upright and BP back to normal. Suspicion was dehydration and that troponin levels may be related to that.
Had echocardiogram of heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, lungs and gall bladder. They are now talking with cardiology dept on what to do next but sounds like I'll be kept in overnight to keep an eye on me.
Just to compound things, mum has had a fall and been taken to Frimley. Nothing broken thankfully but being assesses
My wife is with her
Hello
Well sounds like things are ni looking to bad and I think if they do keep you in overnight that will be a good thing keeping an eye on you but hopefully it sounds like you will not be there for to long
I am sorry to hear about your Mum bless her I am glad nothing is broken but again they are making sure she is alright and your wife is with her
Thank you for the update I have been wondering how you were getting on and hoping it was not a heart attack which sounds like it wasn't they will get to what has caused this and you will be home and Mum will get home to I hope
If you can I would still like to know how you are and now your Mum to x
Will do, typically mum is worrying about me. Sounds like she tripped and has been really shaken her.
good luck, best place for you to be even if a bummer. Hope just a little blip in your journey and progress 😊
Thanks, I've had loads of tests and seen many drs. None seem overly concerned so I'm not worrying about it either.
Hi Hrtly
Sorry to hear what's been going on with you.
I would always advise sitting on the side of the bed for a few moments before standing, be it morning or in the night. Our heart has to pump harder to get the blood up to our head when we stand, so best to get up in two stages. My dad had a stoke and died through getting up in the night. So it's something I'm very aware of now. I've had it myself quite a while ago now. Dr called it vertigo, but I know it was me springing out of bed as it only lasted a few hours.
I hope you pick up again quickly Take care.
Jean
Thanks, getting full mot
Sorry to hear this Hrty but just wanted to say: remember, this as with mostly everything, is temporary; hope that you feel better very soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
Keep us posted with how you get on.

Sorry to hear thst and hope you are soon sorted. I am 7 weeks after a TAVI replacement aortic valve and collapsed yesterday ue to extreme fluctuations of BP ended up with ambulance and kept in hospital I was surprised to be told it was a good sign that the valve was working really well and my blood pressure wasn't sure what to do with all the extra oxygen coming through They have stopped my blood pressure meds for 3 weeks to see where it settles and will, then make a decision as to meds I had been fine up till last week so it has been a big shock and fir the first time I have felt very emotional Thought you lot would cheer me with a few jokes but instead I feel sad at the school playground now going on on this side of the forum as well now. Grow up life is too short as we should all be like Be Kind it's lovely to have her back and those of you whose bad jokes make us laugh. It's a fun forum
Having finally nodded off about 11:30pm got woken at 1am to be moved to Cardiology ward. Unfortunately I now have two noisy sleepers in neighbouring beds. One talking to himself and the other sounding like a warthog in the mating season. Empathy and sympathy tends to be in short supply when you are tired.
Worrying about mum and hoping she is ok.
Speedy recovery to you and your Mum. Always safer to call Ambulance
Hi, just wondering how you are this morning ? Hope you got some sleep in between the nurses coming round to do your obs and the snoring and talking . Loved your comment about the snorer sounding like a warthog 🤣 it’s practically impossible to sleep in hospital , I remember all the interruptions and noise so well when I was on CCU , why is it when you’ve finally managed to fall asleep that’s when the nurses have to wake you up. Hope you’re feeling better today and your mum is ok too
It's always after you finally nod off they wake you up. There's that weird "where am I moment" when you wake up in the early hours to find figures looming over you in the dark. Thankfully they don't wear dark hooded cloaks 😃
You’d think the nurses would let us get some sleep wouldn’t you ! They were all so lovely to me , I was in for a week and the first few nights at home I’d wake up at night thinking I was back in hospital , hubby goes to bed later than me and when he came into the bedroom I thought he was a nurse or dr coming to check on me .
Thanks for all your kind wishes. Both Mum and I are ok. She stayed in all night until my sister could get up from Bristol this morning. My wife was with her until 10 last night. Mum's texted me and seems in good spirits but obviously shaken up.
Didn't get any more sleep, way too noisy. Saw cardio dr this morning and he is happy for me to go home although they are restarting isosorbide so waiting for that, hospital pharmacy takes an age although the pharmacist is very nice and came to visit me and double check prescription. Gave me a fist bump after I said I remembered him from the medicines talk he gave to us in rehab.
They are booking a clinic with my cardiologist for 4-6 weeks and I'm being referred for a non-urgent outpatient appt to check some simple cysts found on my kidneys. The staff here are lovely.
My new hearty buddy popped into visit me yesterday evening which was nice. We met in hospital after our HAs ans kept in touch. Go for long 10-12km walks every couple of weeks. We liken ourselves to Mortimer and Whitehouse and whilst he is Bob to my Paul the irony of who ended up in hospital wasn't lost on us 😀
Hi Hrty
Just wanted to check in and see how you’re doing?
Best wishes

I'm doing ok. Been home since Wednesday teatime. They have restarted the isosorbide medication, albeit a low dose once a day, and I'm now suffering a bid with headaches although these could be due to the weather and or the tablets. Still getty dizzy spells but BP is normal when I check it. Several of my meds could cause this, I have a GP appt next week so will bring it up at that.Mum's doing ok too, sister collected her thursday morning and mum is recuperating at her's. Seems in good spirits.
