I had an MI in 2014. Two stents. I was quite shocked as I had no chest or arm pain just found breathing increasingly difficult. I consider myself lucky as I waited all day before going to hospital and then the triage nurse didn’t ECG me. I was in the waiting room 3 hours before I was seen and then of course all the right things were done.
Anyway 4 years on and I’m getting really bad chest tightness with breathlessness again. Waiting for Angiogram (has pre-op assessment yesterday).
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon: in the morning I take all my meds (about 6am). By the time I’m in work (7:30ish), the tightness has kicked in big time as has the breathlessness. By lunchtime it’s eased quite a lot but still present. I’m assuming it’s the medication doing it’s job but has anyone else experienced this?
OK, let us know how you get on. However, if you haven't already done so, I would tell your medical team how much worse it's got or maybe speak to the BHF nurses here for advice. They are very helpful.
Ask for a medication review with your GP or talk to your pharmacist. It may be that one of your meds, like an anti-anginal needs to be am. and pm. rather than just am. for the best effect.
Thanks for that. I’ve not long had one as it happens and had some changes (Ramipril increased to max plus Amlodipine added again after having to stop it because of leg problems). I sometimes wonder what life was like before Heart Disease took over 😂
Barney'sDad. You don't say whether you're on either nicorandil or isobordide for your tight chest. If you're not on either I would suggest going to ask your doc about them.
