Hi - for months I've had strong heart palpitations, fluttering chest and ear throbbing with pulse at night when I lie down. I hardly sleep and feel like I'm dying. I've had 24 hour heart monitor and antibiotics but the doctor says my heart isn't irregular so couldn't be anything wrong there. During the day I've also been occasionally getting headaches, sharp pain in left side of chest and teeth pain. All signs of heart problems to me but doctor doesn't know what to do. I'm really worried and don't know where to turn. If anyone has any suggestions then that would be great - thanks - Wendy

Palpitations at night
Hi Wendy Aw you poor thing! sounds similar to what happened to me bout a year ago I had palpitations so much that it would wake me up and literally felt like my heart was dancing in my chest honestly and I had the constant throbbing noise in my ears but I had that for years it wasn't until I was on medication for VT that I realised that wasn't normal for me. I had atleast 4 holter monitors before it was picked up on the last one I had and it was only a slight ectopic beat but enough to cause that plus the light headedness was awful. Have you had any other symptoms I noticed you said about teeth pain that's an unusual one I'm surprised your doctor didn't think anything of this???. Did they atleast refer you to a cardiologist? Sorry about all the questions 😅. I hope this gets sorted for you as it can be a right pain in the neck trying to sleep with a constant disco going on in your chest!
Hi, Thanks so much for replying. Sorry you went through the same thing and glad you're better now. My doctor just seems to think that if your heart's not irregular then you're okay. He gave me antibiotics for an ear infection but it hasn't stopped the jaw pain and he referred me to ENT for tinnitus which is months away. I tried taking a strong antihistamine last night and it seemed to calm down the palpitations so I wonder if it's my immune system going into overdrive? But what's causing it? Anyway, I'll experiment with the antihistamines and report to the doctor. Thanks again and kind regards - Wendy
Are you quite anxious? Do you grit/grind your teeth in your sleep? It sounds silly but I’ve suffered with anxiety for years and I tend to grind my teeth in my sleep, it used to cause me such bad teeth/ear pain. It started again recently when I was suffering from palpitations which turned out to be ectopic beats. The anxiety from panicking thinking I was dying caused me to have bad palps when I tried to sleep, my heart rate was normal but it felt like my heart was constantly racing. I would then panic and it would make everything worse.
Thanks Sammi. I'm very calm and never panic but I am really anxious now due to the symptoms I'm getting and not getting any answers from the doctor. I feel I might have a heart attack at any moment. I've decided I'm going to get some tests done privately rather than rely on my doctor who does nothing. Thanks again for your advice and kind regards - Wendy
Try Magnesium Taurate or Bis glycinate, it is helpful for me.
Thanks Anne, I've decided to have some tests done privately to set my mind at rest. Hope you continue to feel okay and good luck with everything. Kind regards - Wendy
