I am on a few different drugs including bisoprolil/perindipril & Apixaban for dilated cardiomyopathy and then I got AF, a cardioversion didnt work and the cardiologist said I was heading for a pacemaker but he wanted to try Digoxin which has worked great for years.
I had my annual cordiologist check up yesterday and he wants me to have a blood test to check its not toxic & causing liver problems, he thinks my dose maybe to high its 250mcgm.
I know they put me on it as my heart rate was dropping very low at night, but has anyone any experience of too much digoxin and what could happen please.

Hello Susan, I started Digoxin about a year ago and it seemed like a miracle drug. Then it was upped from 62.5 to 125. All was OK initially but then I got vision problems yellowy vision, blind spots, halos etc, so went back down to 62.5 and my eyesight has improved
Thats interesting, is that dose controlling your heart enough?
My dose is 250mcg daily. Did you know you can have a blood test to check your levels, its not a routine check but I have had it a few times and it does give peace of mind 😊
Yes all blood tests ok. I'm aware of the afib but it's not too bad and I can cope with it. Will see how it all pans out. Unsure whether to ask GP if there's an alternative to digoxin but waiting to see the results of the next blood test. BP and heart rate are fine
