Hi there.I was diagnosed with AF 2 months ago and put on Edoxaban.
I've started to get joint pains in my hands and knees and was wondering if anyone has had the same problems after just a short time on these tablets. Do you take a different anticoagulant, e.g. Apixaban or other brands and do you have any problems with those?
Just need a bit of feedback before I contact my GP.
(I have also posted this on the AF forum but maybe some of you guys or gals take Edoxaban too).
Thanks.

I generally take edoxaban, started at 60 but reduced to 30. I have no issues with it regarding joint pain. Maybe ask to try clopidogrel instead? Good luck.
Hi, I take Edoxaban and don't suffer obvious joint pains from it. I just checked, and it does not seem to be a known side effect but we are all different in how we respond to drugs so it is always possible. It may be worth asking for a trial on an alternative to see if the pains go away. And maybe you can be on a lower dose of Edoxaban depending on your blood test for clotting time?
Certainly worth discussing with your doctor if they are open to discussion?
hi i was put on Apixaban for AF approx 2 years ago, I have appeared to tolerate it. however different meds suit different people, I am on 5mg 2xdaily. Hope you get the help you need from the specialist. Take care, Good luck.
