Fast heart beat.

Hey everyone.

I think I know what you gonna say. But I'm asking anyway. I've been away on a school trip, on the trip I had what I think was ingestion (we ate a lot of unhealthy food but did a lot of walking)

Since we got home yesterday my Garmin Watch said my BPM was 75 and I assumed it was stress. I've not done much today and my heart is pounding and my watch says 96bpm (that was the highest it's been around 77-96, I'm also a bit breathless but I'm asthmatic so that's not uncommon

Do I call 111, do I go up to a&e or should I just leave it.

Hello :-)

Thank You :-)

I was just reading your reply to Hidden and if you feel something is different then I would phone 111 or go to A&E just to make sure

Your reply also made me laugh you were ready to go back to School after the trip for a rest :-D

Let us know later that you are ok :-) x

Thank you,

I've often felt palpitations but this feels different.

I haven't checked my pulse on anything else, just checked my Garmin and it briefly went up to 114.

I'll go onto the NHS website and just see what that says.

School trips definitely aren't relaxing even with only a small number of students. I'm ready to go back to school just to relax 😅🤣

I was told below 100 is OK.However if this is not normal for you then I would get an appointment with your gp ASAP or call 111 and get some professional advice.

Good luck

First of all I would advise ditching the smart watch. It creates a spiral of adrenaline through anxiety. I recently spoke to a paramedic who has atrial fibrillation but goes on ten mile runs every weekend. His take was to just let his heart take care of itself. At 24 you have nothing to worry about. However it is never too early to start being kind to the old ticker. A heart is like a faithful dog. Feed and water it well and take it out for a couple of walks a day in good fresh air and it will be your friend for life.

If you can feel your heart pounding then visit A&E. Please don't delay. I don't want to alarm you but there must be a reason for it. Your heart should not be pounding. Take some good books or your tablet, headphones and charger and maybe some snacks and water as well because these days you can spend all day in A&E! Best wishes.
