Annual pace maker check

Pleased to report, all's good in the world of my pacemaker, got about 4years battery life left in it.

Anyone else feel a bit freaked out when they slow down and then speed up your heart? It gets me every time, even though I know it's coming 😳

It is a bit unsettling, isn't it. Doesn't last long though.

hi Iv got a CID and that gets checked twice every 6 months and it does fill strange when they speed up my heart. One of the checks is done in the middle of the night when hopefully I’m asleep

I had mine checked yesterday at the clinic. Yes it’s Certainly a strange feeling. My battery is saying 12 years left but it’s only 2 1/2 years old. 80% paced top chamber and 100% bottom chamber. They turned the rate response back on as I was getting out of breath when walking.

Yes, it's really strange. I don't mind too much when they turn it down, but when they speed it up, it feels weird. At my last couple of checks, the physiologist actually turned it off for a couple of minutes. I was a bit concerned, but everything was OK in the end.
