Hi. Your medical history is a bit complicated, and it does sound like you’ve really had a lot to cope with.

But can i try and clarify?

Is your question basically -

‘’What’s an ablation like? Is it a similar experience to an angiogram?’ (which you didn’t find a good experience,)

Forgive me for trying to clarify your question. I may have it quite wrong….but I am just hoping you will get some helpful replies.

yes . Sorry - long winded post ! 😁

I was just wondering 🤔

Yep I’ve got the works umpteen problems

But this has been going on years no one would believe ..

and I was wondering what happens if ablation/s never work after so long

regards . Bev

I hope you get some replies from people who have experienced ablations. You can also search past posts on ablations (top right of this site ) Or search BHF publications, look up Atrial Fibrillation ....treatments, which goes into Ablation.

Do keep us posted on how you get on?

when I got diagnosed with arrhythmias (palpitations) in 2004. I went online and thought the same as you. Before ablation they told me Supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT), then after ablation they told me Atrial tachycardia. It’s to do with hearts electrical conduction. I think that’s what they told me. 2 yrs ago they told me I have Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and other Arrhythmias. The heart beats fast and when it begins to stop and switch back to normal blood pressure drops you feel like you’re going to pass out, then you’re ok again. My GP was taking my blood pressure when I had an episode. She was in shock I managed to stop it, but she said my blood pressure then dropped excessively, she was worried, it then went back up. I was told it’s a birth defect. As they ablated mine it would appear elsewhere in the heart so I’ve had many ablations.

Deejay That is what the Dr told me we’d Evening at the hospital ( may have had since birth ). My Dad used to get. In his 30/40’s passing out But he put it down to long night shift work.

He ended up carotid being scraped , pace maker - found out 5 months previous to his CA . He had got pulmonary hypertension as well . He had been had pacemaker checked2 weeks after CA at the sink & gone . Well the paramedics thought his heart still beating took him hospital - ( pacemaker ticking over )

They did the carotid massage with me blow in syringe . I’d tried all vagus VM . cold water cough , strain. . I’ve had. It asking me up in the night for nearly 4 years . Maybe Dad s - caused it ti react more not sure. Thry checked my carotids . Ok found goitre . My b12 & folate low so the blood tests again. Thursday will see . ( I know b12 causes palpatations . So can help that way . You’ve had . Loads. ! 🙈 ablations - I’m worried. Gall bladder bad enough out 2 years ago 😁.

It’s funny you say that - bp.

Last time I had. I sat bk at home my bp dropped low after hour . Mine is usually high . Scary . But I know now he said get bi down here. If get again . My Auntie started in her 40 ‘s - sat takes a tablet a day still gets occasionally . Mine seems slot & longer . But this Holte me monitor 7 day on this fri coming. Will show I suppose . Dr says he’s got it all though caught so . Maybe I don’t need another monitor

See what they say Friday morning .

Thanks for reply ( and my longwinded replies 😂👍🏻

Try and sit down when you have an episode because it can be dangerous standing when it reverts back to normal and you get dizzy. I’ve actually blacked out for a little and ended falling and dislocated my shoulder. Take it easy and speak to the GP or heart doctor about any concerns you have. If it’s in the family they need to know that too even if it’s a different heart condition write it down before you visit them. At times we get caught up with their voices we forget about our own. Take it easy

Been off them. Couple tears now

I’m terrible for allergies Certain Antibiotics sent my heart rate crazy. Erythromycin any mycins . Amoxicillin ( I know if you have long QT it can cause racing with certain ones ..

I try to eat lot ginger , beets

I didn’t realise so many different Svt ‘s.

All I know The Dr said extra pathway round the top heart causing erratic. Episodes
