Hi all I've had ectopics 6 years. Hell. Was ok for a year until last week. It's a 5 to 6 second run out of no where a string of fast irregular beats with pauses, fast and frightening then normal rythym. I'm not sure why they are back. I'm dizzy and so tired lately, on thyroxine, b12 was low took shots now better, vut d is ok and have low iron but that isn't the problem but they never leave me alone. I'm scared all over again. Scared ill get cardiac arrest, I was banging my chest for it to stop, anyone get this?

Ectopics
hi sorry to hear this I also suffer with ectopic beats there quite frightening and yours sound similar to mine and the same symptoms I’ve just been back to the cardiologist and he told me there quite benign and not serious more annoying and worrying I asked him if he could give me something for them and he said he will give me a low dose beta blocker and that will stop them there weird the way they cause your heart rate to increase then decrease constantly then ease and I get short of breath weird feeling and it feels like my heart is going to stop so are you already on beta blockers I also noticed that I have cut down on caffeine it helps a lot the funny thing is I thort it could be the meds I’m on and stopped taking the statins as the ectopics was far worse when I’m in bed and it’s been four days now and the ectopics have stopped so I’m going to start taking my statins again and see if they come back I will let you know I’m on rosuvastatin and clopidogrel I hope this helps and gives you some comfort that your not on your own and gives you reassurance your heart is not going to stop just bloody uncomfortable and annoying kind regards Andy
Thanks Andy, no drinking caffeine, no alcohol nothing eat healthy 6 years of it . I think having my thyroid removed did it but now I don't know how to fix it. I try to not fear but it stops me from travelling, males me agoraphobic to a degree. Horrific. Never been on beta blockers as I'm too scared but electropysiologist said not enough to take them. Going to ask for another holter and echo as that was 2 years ago. I'm sorry we are going through this. How often do you feel them?
the morning there not that noticeable but come mid afternoon they start and as you aware it’s a few normal beats then 2 missed couple normal beats them miss again each ectopic beat I feel a breathless feeling high in my throat and feel the lightheaded feeling this goes on all night then once I lay down to sleep that’s when it becomes bad and the fear starts then I will fall asleep and wake up feeling fine for most of the morning till the afternoon the problem is the more u get anxious the worst the ectopics become a vicious circle have u checked out doctor Gupta on you tube he talks in length about ectopic beats and ways to ease them I’ve ordered some liquid magnesium apparently that helps them but I understand your worry and the anxiety that your feeling and all you want is just to be able to feel pretty normal health wise I tend to bypass my GP and see the cardiologist as my gp is not that good the only thing with the holter is the 24 hour one is ok but if you have a good day and it only detects a few the doctors loathe to do anything about it I hope you get to the root cause and there able to get them under control for you kind regards Andy
You are very specific about it being last wee. It is worth sitting down with a paper and pen for an hour and go through what you were doing, what you were eating, drinking, any changes to siting of a server, new cleaning products, weather. List everything and try to identify what is different between 1 week and 2 weeks ago
I have candida so took a natural supplement that's it and usual.stress
Hi, Contra21, I’ve had ectopic beats for ten years, then a year ago collapsed whilst driving! Since had several events and 7/8 second strings of atrial ectopic beats and VT. I’m still having various tests but Cardiologist says I am a low risk of arresting. I would revert to your Cardiologist to get checked over.
Hi chelston.
Just reading your reply and I noticed you said you have VT I have that they picked it up on my previous holter monitor and I'm now on verapamil 40mg x2 for it. What meds are you on for it? I still get mine but I also get short of breath so they want me to have an MRI and holter and a stress test in the next six months.
Hope your keeping well.
Yeah, and they always tell us that ectopics are harmless! Ectopics can lead to VT and VT can lead to cardiac arrest. Why do they keep telling us that PVCs are 'benign' and 'harmless'?
