Hi EveryoneI fell off a step ladder putting the Christmas decorations away yesterday. I have no idea why I fell off the ladder was secure & I had already been up & down it a couple of times without incident.
Next thing I know I am falling off & to the side thinking 'why am I falling off?' It wasn't the bump on my head, the pain in my little toe or the shock that had me screaming out but the pain in my chest and the feeling that I had been smacked in my jaw. It did indeed feel as though something heavy had landed on my chest (I now get that question re crushing pain)
Having got myself up & trying to calm down, I took a spray of GTN - which helped but the pain was still grim. Called 999 and long story short off we went to A&E. ECG good, BP good, but waves of pain that brought tears still coming from bottom left hand side of heart. Got released around 6pm having had bloods checked - all good, toe strapped up & bruised bump on head. However my chest is still extremely painful - doesn't react to prodding or particular movement but feels as though I have been punched from the back to the front and under my arm.
I have had a nasty cough and cold over Christmas and in the final stage of this. My heart monitor shows a high heart spike just before I fell. This makes trip number 10 within 13 months.
Glad to be home & in one piece - but frustrated that we don't seem to be any closer to finding out why I am having these episodes. Waiting on CT scan and contrast angiogram.
And yes I did get the decorations put away........ Hoping we all have a better day today.
