yes I don’t doubt I am lucky to be able to . I just wish I could understand why just walking up stairs or even changing my clothes make me breathless yet a king walk doesn’t
I have the same thing. It's silly, small things that seem to take it out of me. I have osteoarthritis too which means I caan't walk as much as I would like because now my legs get too painful. But walking itself doesn't get me as breathless as bending down to empty a small kitchen bin or just changing the bed, or stairs
I can walk very well but again it is the small things I find tiring. I wonder if we gradually warm our heart and arteries up when we go on a long walk and also mentally prepare ourselves whereas emptying the bin or a small diy job takes different muscles, is planned less and involves random rather than planned actions and we have not 'warmed up?
I can walk for hours on the flat but a small hill or a few stairs make me breathless and fatigued very quickly. I'm 47 and have a good level of fitness but, for me, persistent AF and reduced EF I think cause the breathlessness.
Ask your GP about Amiodarone side effects and could they be causing your symptoms, I think there is a good chance that they are and if so hopefully he can put you on an alternative for your Afib. But see your GP or cardiologist first. Best of luck.
are all those that kindly posted confirmed HF or are there other reasons / issues for the breathlessness only I’m told I don’t have HF but a few issues
I get breathless sitting down at times tooWalking round flat these last few weeks have been a nightmare before that I had managed a day wacked the next or could do a few days before getting tired it doesn't make sense.
I get breathless when I bend over or walk up inclines and stairs. I have permanent AF and take Apixaban, Bisoprolol and Fluroemide plus statins. I find it quite hard doing housework and am finding gardening more difficult lately. I’m 80 and am still able to walk 5 miles with my local Ramblers Group. I don’t like to give in so I shall try to do as much as I can. I’m not an indoor person and feel better for being out walking and gardening.
