Holiday destinations with HF

Hi everyone. Not a very important post but was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on suitable holiday destinations for those with heart failure? My husband had a heart attack 6 months ago and he’s developed heart failure. He’s finally starting to feel better and I’d like to think we will go away again at some point as we are both very young and have just gotten married. I’m thinking maybe 1 year post HA may be a good time to go as we will have a good grasp of his condition. He does struggle in very cold/very hot weather so looking for somewhere that doesn’t get above 25C and temperatures aren’t below freezing! He’s okay with hills - we live in Bristol which is notoriously hilly and he just takes his time but somewhere flat would be lovely so we wouldn’t have to think about it. I’m not opposed to doing staycations but suggestions of overseas destinations would be nice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

We lived in Spain in Valencia for 17 years, the healthcare there is absolutely superb, and I would have no reservations about recommending a holiday there, or in all honesty any of Spain or The Canaries.Travel insurance is essential.

Another vote for The Canaries. They tick a few important boxes. Great health service (as long as you're properly insured that is...never, ever travel without insurance), wonderfully mild weather all winter long, and you'll never be too far away from emergency medical care during the journey there and back.

This last point is worth some reflection if you want winter sun. My wife and I also enjoy long haul holidays, trans ocean cruises, and even yachting far off-shore. But the hard fact is that all three of these take us well away from specialist help should the worst happen; even the largest cruise ship won't have the stenting resources that can be the key to survival.

That's our choice, but it's one of those factors that we all need to consider once we're members of this club that no-one wants to join!

Anyhow, there are no such worries with the Canaries, it's just one of the easiest winter sun destinations imaginable, and every time we see one of our snaps from our last Canaries holiday we can't wait to go again!

Hi, we switched from Tenerife to Lanzarote, Costa Teguise, flat, lovely beaches with an all round breeze, we avoid June July August though.

Hi when I had heart failure we went a few times to Carihuela between Torremolinas and Benalmadena, it's beautiful along the front lovely hotels and apartments, a short flight and transfer from Malaga and best of all it's flat. Char

I am also a La Carihuela fan for February time. Long flat promenade to walk for miles and Malaga is a short local bus ride. Warm sunshine days. As everyone else has said travel insurance of course is a must.
