this one is a new one for me (while me and my angina wait for my referral to a specialist cardiologist progresses, a particular test is done and decision on surgery made - I’m not holding my breath for any progress soon)
So twice know when eating a meal I’ve got chest pain and very sharp pains on the inside of my left breast. It starts steadily, hurts quite a bit then passes so I can’t see how it’s indigestion? This was once yesterday - spicy curry, today rice and fish fairly bland. Tends to be close to end of meal. Last week I mainly had “breakfast” (tea and toast, porridge) as meals with fruit and soup so lighter? There were some not good things in there but no major quantities.
as background I get chest pain / tightness/ fullness / pressure as I start to move from sitting (takes a few metres to come on) then dependent on what do and for how long (low level stuff / everyday stuff nothing strenuous) gets worse with sob. Dull ache / pain too again depended what I did. Then I sit exhausted but recover.. But it passes hence why I don’t call 999 / go a&e. Today is quite painful when moving, as soon as stood up from bed after waking, heavy chest pain. Told not to use GTN.
Anyone shed any light? Just interested if anyone else has experienced this? Do you m take anything that helps it.
I also get chest pains with the sharp pain behind the left breast and sometimes even the same pain behind the right breast.
I think that this might be gastric related though, especially when eating spicy curry and then fish and rice. I personally get indigestion when eating spicy food and rice and especially brown rice.
I use gaviscon and drink peppermint tea which seems to ease the digestion.
I don't really know about the other chest pain that you are experiencing, I think that you should at least talk to your GP about these pains, although they could well be muscular skeletal or maybe even anxiety related, but best to get them checked.
Can I ask why you were told not to take your GTN spray.
Hopefully some other members can give you more input on your chest pain.
thanks, you may be right regards gastric as eating triggered it. The other pain i am under a cardiologist and they have no meds for me that work, awaiting test for decision making on surgery. I have a congenital heart defect (diagnosed as causing angina) for which nitrates are contraindicated. I do take lansoprazole due to taking clopidogrel so I was hoping that resolves stomach issues but I will monitor what food triggers thus reaction. Had soup this evening and no pain!
I was not stressed. I didn’t need to calm down. I was enjoying my meal.

thank you but not sure what it is I said on my post to warrant this response, please let me know for understanding and future posting. I’ve always taken meds as per prescribed and advocate the same to others or if they have questions go back to Doctor. I haven’t advised anyone to change their meds, never would. If your referring to the GTN my cardiologist said not to take. Please explain, I hope you will.
