More pain than usual !!

Hi 👋

I don’t know why but today has been one of the worst days with pain I’ve had since being diagnosed 😢

It’s been in both arms down to my hands and shoulders, front and back along with the heavy chest feeling.

I haven’t done much different today than usual.

Has anyone else had this random worse symptoms, I know it can come in clusters but today was something else, I used the GTN spray quite a lot but not the ‘3’ times in a row that my GP said.

When I got home I used the heat pad which did help, so tired but also worried.

!!!

Hi Fluffybee

This is the advice my Cardiologist gave me.

If you have any change to your usual chest pain. More intense pain, more frequent, lasting longer it's time to be seen in A&E.

Please give 111 a call.

Do tell us how you get on

Good luck.

The biggest problem there, is most doctors at a&e will just send you back to your cardiologist.

Hi Furi_iki

I have lived with Vasospastic angina for 8 years.

I have an admission plan and have never been sent home from A&E.

I am usually admitted to CCU for about a week for treatment to stabilise my angina.

Fluffybee and I share the same condition.

Apologies to you both. I am just recounting my experience.

Thank you

It is confusing as vasospastic and microvascular angina are unusual and not well recognised conditions.

Hi... Was your experience in UK or Romania?

In Romania. But from what I'm reading on here, it's just as difficult to get seen in the UK.

It’s calmed more now but I will ring, let you know.

Thank you 😊

Hi, I get very bad days sometimes. I can't put my finger on a particular trigger.

Yes, it's debilitating and annoying, not knowing why.

At least you have gtn spray, and yes you can use it up to 3 times for an episode. Any ongoing problems, please talk to your doctor.

Take care, i hope you get it sorted.x

Hi Fluffybee,

Sorry to hear you’re so bad at the moment... I hope you can get to speak with your cardiologist and adjust your treatment, maybe a trip to A&E could help speed that process up and also help you in the short term!

I do have periods when my MVA gets particularly bad, sometimes randomly or like now when I’ve overdone it at work. A difficult thing to balance!

Good luck, hope things calm down for you!

Hi fluffybee I agree with Milk fairy get medical advice. Hopefully your cardiologist can prescribe more or different medication, you should be assessed by a doctor.

Hi Fluffybee. We hope you get the help you need so you feel better. xxxx

Hi Fluffybee, hope you are feeling better today, strange the information given on use of GTN spray, my cardiologist advice was chest pain 1 puff wait 5minutes if needed a 2nd , then 999 no 3rd time as you took, speak to the cardiac nurse they are normally more informed than the doctors, it’s better to be safe than sorry, I dialled 111 when I had a stroke , they didn’t treat that as urgent, chest pain needs attention ASAP.
