Arthur had always enjoyed the drink. On pay day he would go out with the lads after work for a pint or ten! It became so problematical that his company started paying him on Friday instead of Thursday. One Friday night he went out and started partying, and didn't arrive home till Sunday lunchtime. When he staggered through the door the formidable figure of wife Vera stood there with her arms folded. She said "I haven't seen you for three days! How would you like it if you didn't see me for three days?" With a grin on his face he slurred "That would be OK by me". On Thursday morning he was just able to see enough out of his swollen left eye too make out Vera standing there with her arms folded!

This probably makes plenty of people laugh. Unfortunately, there is nothing funny about being in Vera's place. Watching someone kill themselves is painful, I have been there and it broke my heart and the hearts of Arthur's family.
