CRT implant tomorrow

The day before has arrived. Its been a roller coaster - 18 months starting with an attack, LVSD heart failure and all the meds after being so active. I remember writing in here about my heart rate in upper 20's and pains everyone say go to A&E, spending a week in hospital, mostly waiting but no decisions made due to massive waiting list. Then a year of symptomatic episodes lasting usually week at a time such as the usual dizziness, breathlessness and that awful fatique, yet other times felt normal. I was told I would be put on urgent list for this , last March so been a very long wait.

Anyhow, will see how the crt pacemaker helps and how I recover from that. Hopefully this will get through the next decade easier - 58 now. I was told it could make things worse or better.

I pretend I am not at all fearful but I am having dreams about it last few nights :) I know its a very regular thing they do and in and out same day usually, but its me now :)

Wishing you all the best of health. xx😘😀😀😀

I know someone who feels fantastic after having a pacemaker fitted. Sending you best wishes and hoping you will soon feel as well as her.

I hope so... thanks

Hello :-)

I also know people that have had pacemakers and never heard one say that it has not made a difference for the better :-)

You have been waiting quite a while but now it has finally come and when something is happening to you no matter how many before you have done or had the same it is different but when it is your turn you will feel some fear but it will soon be done and you will be back home :-)

I hope everything goes well and look forward to hearing how you are doing :-) x

My mother in law had a CRT D inserted earlier in the year.

It has certainly improved her quality of life.

I hope you have a positive outcome too.

Yep I heard some horror stories but also good outcomes. As with everything.....

Dear HeartJames

At long last your time has come and hopefully once this incredible object has been fitted in you, you will begin to understand just how poorly you have been to have needed one fitted.

Mine just does its thing and seems like it has always been there { that's how quick once the fitting pain goes it slots into your life }

I had a bonus that it makes apart of my chest tattoo appears 3d !

Just because its a day job making it look a routine operation, it is not, its an amazing complex thing that only the skills of the whole Pacemaker team { from the surgeon to the cleaner } can pull off in trying to give you a new life { you don't want the old one back }

Take care and all the best, you will be fine, it is the best thing that your heart can have done or they wouldn't have put you forward for it.

I can't wait { please } for your update.
