Before I start asking for advice I was previously on here under the name Taz71 as some people may know me but I closed my account due to mixed news about previous monitor results from my gp.
After having a 3 day holter monitor fitted and waiting weeks for the results I was eventually told by the receptionist at my doctors that all results back ok?? This came as a shock because I've been having many episodes of palpatations, bradycardia and tachycardia etc. My head was all over the place and struggled to accept it so I cancelled my account on here.
I then had a call of my gp the following day to apologise as the results I was given was for a blood pressure test and not my holter monitor and that my 3 day holter results weren't even back yet.
Last week my gp said the results came back and because I'm asymptomatic he's requested I have a pacemaker fitted urgently and would speak to my cardiologist.
The cardiologist called on Saturday to go over my symptoms and now wants me to have an (ILR ) implant loop recorder fitted to get a clear picture of whats happening before he makes any decisions on a pacemaker which I'm happy about as I'm having episodes daily.
I'm just glad that after nearly 3 years things are starting to move forward.
So has anyone had a loop recorder fitted and their views on them.
What a journey you have been on to finally look like you are getting the answers and possible treatment you need
I have not had one of these fitted but have seen posts where members have and they all seemed to be ok
I am sure you will be to and it will be good to finally get the answers you have waited so long for
Let us know how you get on x

Hi thanks for your reply I have now been given a date in September for the implant to be fitted so hopefully it won't be too long before a decision is made.I will keep you updated when I know more.

Hi, thanks again. I was just reading your post from earlier on with regards to your doctors/cardiologist notes and the possibility of damage to your heart muscle and how it has made you anxious. I cant imagine how you are feeling or what you have been through lately on your journey since the operation but please contact you gp and cardiologist for some clarification on their notes. As others have mentioned sometimes things get noted without thinking the true consequences of their wording. I was told one thing by a previous cardiologist to be told something else by another then my gp said I had leaking valves when another said I needed a pacemaker urgently and stopped my meds!! My head was all over the place and I actually came off this forum as I couldn't think straight, was I imagining all these episodes I was having? I then calmed down and tried to stop worrying about things, collected my thoughts and came back on here but in a different name as I had deleted my old account..taz71...the reason I came back was down to the help and support from everyone including yourself on getting me through it. We all go through challenging times and need a bit of direction or just a few kind words to help us through it so please dont worry but do contact your medical team to discuss it further. And as always write a post even if you just need a chat with everyone or some advice and please keep giving advice like you have done for many others on here as its greatly appreciated. Take care.Regards
Taz.

Hello
I can see how you head must have been all over the place !
I am glad you have come back there are some lovely members who like you say just a few kind words when we are struggling is all we need
I am going to talk with the Rehab Nurses where I had my op if I can get hold of them they will have a good idea they have all my notes more than my Doctor but I wished sometimes Doctors would think before they write things down
The best of it is though the comment my Doctor wrote she actually has admitted she is not very good when it comes to hearts and when I have asked her something she has often said I would feel happier if you spoke to your surgeon when you next speak to them about whatever I have asked
