I can see that this question has been asked but I’m still in doubt. What I’m looking for is someone in a similar situation to myself and what happened with them.
No heart attack but low ejection fraction hence device fitted, precautionary procedure, had only medicine prior to device being fitted last week.
I have a C1 licence which I use to drive our motorhome as it is over 3.5 tonnes, I only use the C1 part for this purpose, I don’t drive anything other than a car usually. Will I still be able to drive the motorhome?
For the life of me I can’t find a definite answer to my issue. I am just looking for people’s experiences if they were in a similar position.
Thanks for reading.

Why not talk to the DVLA? You might have to wait in a telephone answering queue but at least you will get a definitive answer.
Hi Fritzhymer I am in same boat so to speak as you. Having recently had a CRT-D fitted. I got confused with everybody’s different views and experiences, so I contacted DVLA. If you contact the telephone number for the medial team (not the general team) which you can get from DVLA website. The phone was answered within a minute or so and I spoke to a very nice, helpful man. Best, in cases like this to speak to the appropriate people who can give you the exact rules and advice in my experience. Hope you are able to return to your hobby. Good luck
Hi I like you had an ICD fitted for preventative purposes in 2017 I had a HGV licence which I had to relinquish and on examination of my Licence seems to have removed the C1 category so I think you will be in the same situation however as one of the other replies to your post suggests giving DVLA a call should give you a definitive answer Regards DaveB
