hi my heart warriors
Well I’m back from my scan where I got injected with regadenoson to make my heart stressed… my earlier post said about how scared I was of the side effects so here is my experience.
Within 5 seconds of the medicine being injected I suddenly felt very breathless and was having to breathe very fast.. the nurse was distracting me and telling me to breathe in through my nose out through my mouth.. my legs also went very weak like when you’ve had an adrenaline rush and also got a slight headache. The nurses were all the time telling me that it’s all ok as my vital signs are all normal so to bear with it and it will soon wear off. These symptoms lasted no more than 30 seconds of severity until they waned down…. After 5 minutes of further monitoring I was allowed to sit up and then go get a cup of coffee and eat a fatty sausage sandwich then return after 45 mins for the scan part of the procedure where u lay on a bed with your arms above your head and it takes around 15 mins. They will play music if you ask them too for you.
All in all it wasn’t nowhere near as bad as I had imagined… yes it’s uncomfortable but only for a very short while and they are trained to know if they need to stop it so even if your having symptoms my advice is don’t worry if their not worried the symptoms will pass very quickly. Thank you to all you gave advice on my previous thread.
