Hi all had my stress test done yesterday and I reacted badly to the stress injection I felt quite unwell and totally drunk and numb and my legs and arms were like lead They did look after me well despite taking me off the lay back bike by wheelchair . I did recover some 30 minutes later after lying down in a recovery area but today I still have a large ringing in my ears and feel a little weak and unstable . I wanted to find out if anyone else has been through this and also to identify the name of the injection they use to create the stress on the heart ?

Nuclear stress test issue
I have no idea what they use but I had a shocking reaction to it and within a couple of seconds too, it was dreadful and I vowed I would never have another one. Scared me senseless, so I empathise with you.
I believe what they gave me was called dobutamine which is injected. It terrified me, I wouldn’t want to go through it again. I did manage it but Was so relieved when they said it was done and injected beta blocker to slow heart rate down.
Yes, that was probably what Quovadisuk had to stress the heart. I have had various scans with dyes but the only one that made me feel slightly unwell was the CT heart scan where the combination of dye with the other medications administered left me headachey and woozy for about 30 minutes. Fortunately a kindly technician brought me tea and biscuits!
I sympathize, although I didn't have anything like that. Did you drink plenty of water to flush it out of the body?
Hi, I recently had a stress test and wasn't feeling too bad until I had the dye injected as well. My BP crashed and the consultant had to come in, he witnessed it crashing another 3 times before they stopped the stress test. They said I might have to have it done again if the consultant isn't happy with the results. I am not having it done again.
Even though I had plenty to drink before and after, I felt awful for approx. 3 days so you have my full sympathy and anyone else who has had this reaction too.
I am now waiting to hear from the consultant as to where we go next.
