I had consistent chest pain following discharge from hospital a few weeks ago and was prescribed Ranexa. I had been admitted with a second myocardial infarction that turned out to be a NSTEMI MINOCA. My first heart attack two years ago required stenting and i have been on statins, aspirin and ramipril since. A number of new drugs were added to above following 2nd heart attack, including Ranexa. Woke up a few days ago feeling very medicated and unwell. Think it is the Ranexa and pharmacist agreed. Waiting for the issues to subside as and when my body clears it from my system. It’s bad enough trying to get over a second unexpected heart attack without having ongoing chest pain and drug complications…..will this cardiac hell ever end?

Im sorry to hear of your issues with your medication. When I started mine it took a while for the side affects to settle. It was nothing major (lightheaded, weakness, brain fog etc), it really added to the whole situation and I felt less able to cope mentally with what was happening. Once I wasnt affected also by the medication side affects I felt I had a much better mind set over everything else going on.
I hope you feel better once that medication is out of your system and the next one is more suitable.
