Hello. I was just wondering if anyone has had any insight.
I’m taking ramipril, Spironolactone, bisoprolol and omeprazole and over the past week I’ve been waking up with a slight nosebleed. Nothing major but interested to hear if anyone experienced similar? Thanks x

All too common I think, when on anti-platelets. Are you also on the go-to 75mg of soluble aspirin, as this can also contribute to this? I had this but it calmed down quickly, still rears up very occasionally, part of the journey I've put it down to.
No I’m not on aspirin. Thank you for taking time to reply 👍
Hello
I used to get terrible nose bleeds but it was when I was on Ticagrelor which is the blood thinner
I ended up having to have my nose cauterised 3 times
But light bleeding will not need that and when I was having all my problems Hidden is right they told me to resist getting any scabs of as I know they can irritate and use Vaseline up my nose 3 times a day and make it a daily routine
Looking at your medication, none of the meds affect your coagulation, I'm prescribed rivaroxaban and from time to time i have nose bleeds that can last a few hours. They require me to pack my nose and apply pressure for long periods. Eventually they stop but its not very nice but im used to them.
If you're having bleeds i suggest you have a word with your cardiology nurse, sometimes you can an chronic infection of the hair follicles in the nose that bleed.
hi there, sorry to hear you’re getting nosebleeds, they’re annoying and can be very worrying if they escalate. I’ve been cauterised three times and eventually had an op because I had a deviated septum (worth checking). When I was prescribed atorvastatin I noticed there’s a 1in 10 risk of nosebleeds as a side effect in the instruction leaflet in the box.
I don’t know anything about the meds you’ve listed but worth checking the side effects warnings….and Vaseline really helps 👍
Short answer, yes. Nosebleeds ceased when the Spironolactone was stopped and Epierenone started. Spironolactone was causing other problems, painful nipples and breast swelling. Undesirable, as I’m male. Hadn’t associated the nosebleeds with any particular drug until they stopped coincident with stopping Spironolactone.
Thanks for that Stillvertical51. I did wonder if it could be the Spironolactone. I asked the heart nurse and she didn’t seem to think so though. Just told to ‘keep an eye on it’ 🫤
