Anyone on here can give me some feedback on Entresto? If you found it a good med/side effects etc..

My cardiologist is thinking to switch me from Ramipril to it?

Hey.I take entresto 24/26 which is the lowest dose out of three as my body hasn't really agreed with much medication.

I've been on it for 4/5 months and have no issues. I went on it because the perinadpril I was on drained me of energy.

It's keeping me stable and have had no side affects.

I’ve been on the highest dose for about 3 years, I call it my wonder drug. Best medication I’ve had with no side effects for me except occasional low blood pressure but of course we are all different

This is making me a bit more relaxed. When I’ve read that one of the side effects was renal failure I almost panicked.

Last thing I want is to damage my kidneys too…

Do you get regularly checked for signs of kidney failure?

Yes, I have blood tests every 3 months at GP, no issues as yet.

I’ve been on it for about 5 months now (instead of Ramipril) owing to low ejection fraction and no side effects so far. I check my BP & pulse daily, no coughs or dizzinesses etc - just hoping it will have done good things for my EF when have it checked again in March.

I switched from Ramipril and have been on the highest dose for about a year. My Ramapril cough was gone within 2 weeks of switching and I had no issues titrating up to the highest dose.

I switched from Ramipril to entresto, you have to have a couple of days break from Ramipril before you start on Entresto. I started on the lowest dose as I have low BP always under 100. HF nurse would not put me on higher dose until I was above the 100 line. After a few weeks was able to be put on middle dose. Been on it 6 months or so now. Not had any issues, blood pressure still bit low and do get dizzy spells but that’s just down to my BP. It drops significantly when I stand so I have to be careful standing. Once up and stand for a minute or so I’m ok. Not had any issues, my cough did stop but still get one now and again. Been told by both the cardiologist and HF nurse entresto is one of the gold standard drugs for HF.

Hi

I was diagnosed with heart failure last September and had my Ramipril changed to Entresto. It didn’t agree with me at all.

It worsened my chest palpitations to the point where I couldn’t sleep and my heart felt like it was out of control. I ended up back on Ramipril a week later.

Everybody reacts differently so the only way to know is to give it a go…especially since it is supposed to be so good for HF.

Good luck

Thanks a lot for your feedback. This is very useful for me, something definitely to watch out as sadly I suffer already of quite frequent atrial tachycardia .

I have been on the middle dose of Entresto, as I developed an allergy to ramapril. I started with a lower dose, and have been on the middle dose for 2 years. It is the best drug to be on if you have low EF. I did get low blood pressure initially but now very stable.

I am on the full strength entresto, built up slowly from lowest to highest dose, no side effects and seems to do me good as heart failure team are happy
