Flecainide and Lixiana

Hi, I've been prescribed flacainide and lixiana for AF, I started taking them on Tuesday and was fine, however yesterday I started to feel queasy and got a headache (after exercise) which I just can't shift.

Has anyone else had this? I'm wondering whether to contact my Dr. It might just be coincidental though as I have strained my neck!

I haven't taken these - have you read the patient information leaflet in the box?

A quick search on the NHS website does show that lixiana can cause nausea in some patients.

Dear Trixie_Belle,

I have been taking Flecainide since 2016. It worked wonders for my Atrial Fibrillation although at first it made me feel nauseous and gave me a lot of stomach discomfort. I am prone to gastritis and it seemed to trigger the problem nearly gave up on it.

The doctor told me to ignore the direction about taking it on an empty stomach and said to take it with food. Also I now take it with a large glass of cold water. Both these things helped.

Hope you can get through this.
