Have any of you had one of these stress perfusion MRI scans? They show the blood flow to your heart muscle. I had mine last month and I have just got the results. Over all they are good...I had a 2x CABG aged 34 in January and the report from the scan shows I have 1/16th of my heart not getting enough blood. My cardiologist says that a result of having 15/16ths of my heart receiving blood is really good and that it would be rare to have 16/16 areas working, for having had CABG surgery.
Has anyone had results back from one of these and what were they like? How are you now? Did you need further intervention? I am just so paranoid now that my heart is broken that I am just waiting for it to turn around and fall apart again. I'm so torn, part of me wants to get back out there to exercise (as I have been running after the op) and the other part of me is paralysed by fear. I feel guilty that I am not jumping for joy at these results, because I should be, shouldn't I? I just don't trust my body anymore and it really upsets me.
Any comments welcome xx

Please do not feel guilty because you are not jumping for joy
The physical part of you is going nicely but we do feel that are bodies have let us down and so the mental side starting to trust it again can take time
well done on such great results. We're all in the position now that we have to deal with the hand we've been dealt. It is what it is.
And remember, it could alway have been worse, a lot worse.
What you feeling now is perfectly normal. Dont worry about it, these sort of feelings, emotions will sort themselves out as you gain more confidence over time. It will happen.
The fact that you looking to get moving again is more than half the battle as many people will not have previously exercised and wont now.
Ive been were you are now, there is a new normal for you, but no reason why you cant get back to what you enjoy doing under the advise if your cardiologist.
Sometimes it can be difficult to accept good news when things have gone so wrong before - it's like waiting for "the other shoe to drop" isn't it? you are worried that it will all go wrong again - Your recent results show that your heart is doing well but you are reluctant to put it to the test
Do you think it would help you to find a local group of people with heart or other conditions who get together for walks or other activities? - it could help you to rebuild your confidence and return to running and walking gradually with others who have similar experience
i know the BHF support local groups to do this - local libraries, GPs, branches of U3A and others might have information about groups - some of your friends might even know of some
