Is it safe to use Lazy Spas

Hi to you all, I had a heart attack almost 4 years ago. I had stents fitted and apart from the bumpy start of my journey (anxiety, scared etc) I am doing very well. My partner bought me a lazy spa which I do enjoy. My question is should I actually be using it?? I have heard contradictory answers to this. I thought who better to ask than this fabulous group 😁😁

Hi Lynn I haven’t seen you on here for ages, glad to hear you are doing well, I don’t know if the spa is good for you or not but if you’ve been using it with no problems and it relaxes you? Sometimes think we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t 💐

Hi VeletSky , I hope you are keeping well. I really enjoy using the spa but I’m having a lot of neck and shoulder pain. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence that I start using the spa and I’m in pain. Take care my lovely 💐🌺x

hello Lynn, it's just a thought.

When you are in the spa,do you lie back with your neck against the rim of the spa, because if you do that little bit of strain could be the source of your pain.

It's often surprising how little things can cause a larger upset, I brought a new desk once and after about a month terrible pains in my right shoulder, it was about two weeks after they started that I realized the desktop was about a inch and a quarter higher than the old one and useing the mouse was not quite the same, so I put a cushion on the chair and ten days later no pain.

As for the spa, I don't have one but my next door neighbor has, and I use it fairly often .

Why not talk to the BHF Heart Helpline nurse to get a professional opinion?

Hi Lynn, I'm no Dr, but Iive life normally and do everything I used to do, spa's, sauna, snorkel, swim and gym. If I were you, I honestly wouldn't worry. Because its our heart, we are more aware of every little pain and tend to worry it is our heart. Try not to worry, it could be anything thats causing the pain in your neck, even the way you are sitting.

if it feels ok to you with no ill effects .. do it.

But be aware !!! Your blood pressure may rise depending on who is in there with you :)
