Hello :-)

I am so sorry that you are in so much discomfort I had Bypass surgery so know how it feels

You can try the creams you mention as sometimes it can be one might help worth trying to see

I think it was suggested to me Bio oil can help I am sure that was what it was called

I have to be honest I did not use anything but I did take painkillers

I am not sure why you feel you do not want to take painkillers and I accept it is a personal choice but they might just do the trick and give you some relief

If no matter what you try it does not improve speak with your Doctor

I hope it eases soon for you :-) x

I have another issue. Ever since my surgery I have a weird taste in my tong.

Anyone out there with this problem?

my taste has been different but not all time. Only with certain types of food. In particular with sweeter things. I looked at the bright side it has helped with the healthier diet.

i think what you do will depend on the type of pain/discomfort. Im only a few month post surgery and had a discomfort around the sternum like it sometimes feels its stuck on and tight. But the doctors seem to think this is all part of the healing process and may take months to get used to ad disappear

Ive only heard bio oil will help with scar reduction once it had healed properly rather than deal with pain.

yes, funny tastes and smells. The worst of these went away within a couple of months. But I still have lost my enjoyment of eating chips, and that’s 30 months.

it can happen I am about 8 months past and went to A an E just a few weeks ago as the pain was quite bad.

They did all the checks possible and everything was 100%, they reckoned some scar tissue had separated and was causing the pain. All good now.

Bottom line get it checked out properly ☺️

I use pure arnica gel on my neck and shoulder and any other aches. Had partial replacement knee late 2019 and use all my alternative resources. Consultant mentioned cortisone recently, NO NO NO especially as I’m seriously thinking it’s a med for diabetes that’s causing it!

if the scar is thickened eg keloid that could be an issue - try Bio Oil and gently massage it into the scar. Ask Dr if it’s ok to apply heat eg hot water bottle or heat pack

Maybe it’s something physio could help with - again ask Dr then they can refer you

Hope things improve soon
