when push came to shove the NHS gave me priority for scans and an immediate appointment with a consultant. The op went very well and saved my life.

I have today received a copy of the consultants finding, sent to my GP.

don’t understand the terminology but it all sounds fine.

The catch……

I had the op 30thApril 2020..

Now that is slow.

Glad to hear all is well (you think lol). I've never seen my report and my op was November 2018 😅

your GP surgery can give you a copy. Ask the staff and they should arrange it. No need to trouble the GP. I think it is referred to as your discharge letter.

I normally do not want to know any such details, except after a stroke when it was useful to discover basic details.

It’s a lovely peaceful Sunday morning here in deepest rural Essex. After the first proper rain for many weeks my geraniums have woken up. Very pretty.

I thought my copy of letters to my GP from the hospital was bad at six months, but yours really takes the biscuit! I work on the basis that no news is good news 😃

I too go on the basis of no news is good news. And my aortic valve replacement went very well. so I had completely forgotten about any follow up letters. I guess my details got held in the system because I never got invited to any rehab. All facilities were closed at that stage of the pandemic.

I never got invited to rehab after either op and my second op was in 2017. I could have chased them up for it but didn't bother. I was back at work after 12 weeks so getting plenty of exercise walking round the office. Didn't feel I missed out on anything.
