Hoping and praying that my surgery doesn’t get cancelled again. I’m second on the list tomorrow at midday. Absolutely terrified. Wish me luck!

AVR surgery tomorrow!

Good luck, hope it all goes well.
Hello
Feeling terrified is normal the night before I had my Bypasses even though they gave me a sedative I did not sleep but try and get some rest and I really do hope it does not get cancelled
You are in safe hands and focus on all the things you can do and enjoy again after your recovery
Look forward to your updates x

The midnight terrors! I think of Rick Stein’s recent comments about his AVR - they were extremely reassuring. You’ll probably be able to google them (I hope!). All the best to you and looking forward to your next post in a little while.

Hi. The good news: no problems with my heart and had my first heart (AVR) anniversary in January 😊 Bad news: still struggling to come to terms with being diagnosed with advanced glaucoma 😢 Had a trabeculectomy on my left eye in September, as pressures too high, and now waiting to have another procedure on same eye as pressures are too low ☹️ Such a rollercoaster. Still need to have surgery on my other eye. Trying to stay positive, but it's hard. How are you? Hope you are doing ok?
Hello you, glad the AVR sounds successful, sad to hear about your eyes though, must be very worrying, must make seeing difficult I suppose. Hopefully it will all calm down soon. Don’t really know much about eye issues though. I’ll check the internet.
Heart still going, but had all sorts of issues getting the balance of my drugs right as they give me the wobbles, but they do help control my heart. It’s as if the drugs are fighting each other, in me!
Went to get my hearing aids checked, audiologist pointed out the mole on my ear lobe is much bigger than 6 months ago, long story short, turns out it’s skin cancer, probably from my sea canoeing days, never thought to use the sun block on my pretty little ears, I know doppy mistake. Any rate moles been removed, pre-cancer cells confirmed so another 5mm comes off next month. Deep joy, no swimming again for a month.
As you get older, why is staying alive so much more difficult!
Hope all goes well with the old eye balls, stay in touch, best wishes, me
