Good news re biopsy, not long to wait until your treatment and then all behind you, itβs only natural to be scared we are all afraid of the unknown but we are all sending hugs and prayers for you πxx
Ah that's good you have a date for your op x bet you cant wait to get this out of the way! And into recovery. I wish I could just get mine over and done with! X I'm sure will be my time soon ππ
You came here and had quite a few things on your list and one by one you have been ticking them of and brilliant about the news that there was nothing wrong
You got through each of those this been the last on the list and yes we all feel frightened some more than others but you did the rest you will do this to and you will be home in time to be pampered and celebrate Christmas with your lovely family
I was very frightened when my AVR was approaching. Very very scared. But as soon as I walked in to the hospital my fears melted away. The staff were amazing. The surgeons fabulous. Yes itβs a big op, but you wonβt know that. The anaesthetic will be substantial, in my case I was out for three days. Then itβs all done. The rehab is lengthy, mine was three months, but every two days I could feel the improvement. Then I had my life back and I felt fabulous.
Please be assured this will be so much better than the average hospital stay. So try to tone down your fears as best you can
Glad you've got your date. The worst part is the waiting but once you are in hospital you are in the safe hands of a wonderful team of people who you must try to remember, perform this operation fairly routinely with a very good success rate. It is worrying but everything will be so well managed for you and I found an amazing sense of calm once I was in hospital. All the best and keep us updated. Xx
They look after you very well,I felt very safe.I had my AVR 24th August I feel much better now than I did before the operation, going to cardio rehab now.
Try and cheer up. Valve-replacement is very low risk, and the hospital time is brief. You will soon be home, and after a few weeks feel very much beter and more cheerful
Relax! I know this sounds hard, but you really have nothing to be afraid of. You re having a defective mechanical part replaced, just as your car (if you have one) might have, and you should notice the improvement in your health and energy levels quite quickly. Yes, coming round after an operation may not be the best experience but you will grow in strength day by day. As for pain, my surgery really was painless and I think that anaesthesia and pain control have probably become even better than when my valve was replaced. May God be with you and hold your hand geniwhrn you need reassurance.
