Could anyone tell me if it is safe to use GTN for angina during hot weather?

GTN and hot weather
Hello
The heat must be getting to me I read your title and thought you said G&T and hot weather
But back to the GTN spray as far as I am aware it is safe to use in hot weather
Hope you are keeping well x
G&T sounds good 😂
Thank you very much for your response. I was just a bit concerned as during the hot weather my heart rate increases and I have had couple of mild angina bouts which thankfully eased without the use of GTN.
Thanks again. Take care x
Hello
I wonder if a G&T would work or may be not
I think this hot weather is going to be quite trying for people especially those with health problems
Maybe you could ask your pharmacist what they think as I know it can be hard to speak to a Doctor quickly
I hope though you find you may not need it x
Hello 🙂
I am currently in Slovenia for a couple of months so I will check at the pharmacy when I next go in to town. Fingers crossed I won’t need it though 🤞🏻
As you say I think a lot of people with underlying health issues are going to find the warmer weather difficult.
Thanks again. Have a good evening 🙂 x
Hello
What a lovely place to be
Think positive you are not going to need it x
Hello 🙂
Yes it’s beautiful here and very peaceful 🙂
I will keep positive 🙂 I won’t need it 🙂 x
If you need us though you know where we are x
Dear DoraDora59
Hello to you, use it if you feel and when you need it, a little dizziness is better than that tightness and strain on your heart.
As Thatwasunexpected said you may feel the dizziness a little more.
Please if you are going to experiment with G&T instead of the GNT as BeKind28 has suggested, can you let the forum know the outcome? { big smile }
Stay well

As Blue said - yes, please do let us know - I've already got frozen sliced lemons & limes in my freezer - just to add to my glass you water you understand 😉😜😂
Thatwasunexpected has given you the best advice! Hot weather dilates the blood vessels, and so does GTN, so use it more carefully.
I’ve just copied one of the key quotes from BHF
‘If you use a GTN spray to control your angina you should take extra care in hot weather. GTN spray can dilate your blood vessels quickly, which causes your blood pressure to suddenly drop and you may feel faint’.
Thank you very much for your reply. That makes sense. I’ll bare that in mind 🙂 Hopefully I won’t need it and things have settled down.
The answer is a definite yes . And when ever you need to use it you should be sitting down as it does lower your blood pressure significantly.
In hot weather (and I mean extremely hot weather) exceeding the temperatures that the UK has experienced, GTN can become unstable and explode, which is why you shouldn't ever leave a can in the car!! It is highly uncommon and not worth worrying about.
I have to say I have had to use my GTN a couple of times but was sitting down anyway- , all was well. I've got unstable Angina , so always have it on hand,
Thanks for that……comforting to know. Yes, my GTN goes everywhere with me too 😊
