Is it safe to have a gtn bottle out in the sun next to me while sunbathing? Will it explode?

Hi Poppy451

I took mine to Dubai with me recently when I went on holiday and the temperatures were over 30 degrees.

Check on the back of your spray, it should say what temperature it should not be exposed to. Mine says not to expose over 50 Celsius, so I think you should be okay.

Don’t put it directly under the heat, where the sun is shining on top of it. As long as it’s placed in a cool place away from the sunlight, it should be fine.

All the best.

I read that as, "is it safe to have a G&T in the sun?"

If it isn't then I'm a goner!

I am sure g&t in the sun would go down a treat . Just none for me recently because it doesn't seem to mix well with chest pain and gtn and g&t is probably not such a good idea. Bummer

the quinine in tonic can trigger AF and palpitations. Ditto bitter lemon

Thanks, I keep it in my bag but I was worried about it.

I got some new hearing aids last week. I asked the audiologist what would happen if I accidently forgot to take them out in a hot tub/swimming pool/sea. She said she knows of one patient who put hers in the washing machine, and it survived. She doesn't recommend it though!

My GTN sprays are always squashed completely out of shape by the time their expiry date is up, as they usually live in my back pocket :)

Forgive me for mentioning this as you probably use regularly but the heat will lower your BP and GTN spray definitely does.I spent 7 hours in A & E a couple of weeks ago after I had done an hour long bowls match as well.My BP dropped so much and I had to fight to stay conscious for 30 mins
