I have been on bisoplolol for almost 2 years now with no problems at all. I have also been taking amiodarone since March but has done nothing.

Dear Gemini-ray

Did your cardiologist recommend the change after a blood test? Because Amiodarone can play havoc with the liver and kidneys { but remember I am not medically trained }

What is strange is that he said that you “ could have some bad side effects “ strange because all drugs can cause side effects to some people.

Bisoprolol is a powerful drug that does its job well, there has been a lot of reports on this drug by other members stating that they have had problems with it.

Who we don’t hear from as often { and why would we? } are the hundreds of thousands that take the drug with no or very little side effects. I am lucky to be able to say that I fall into that group { only on 1.25mg }

When the pacemaker was put in I began to suffer badly with dizziness, the Bisoprolol and a handful of other drugs were moved from my morning slot to the evening one and that has all but stopped.

I cannot put my hand on my heart {new improved one} and say that it was the Bisoprolol but a few on here have done the same with moving it with the same results, THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH YOUR GP/CARDIOLOGIST SAY SO.

Take care and please try not to worry on a ‘what might happen’ you are doing fantastically.

Hi there. I take bisoprolol 2.5mg and have done since 2019. Even took it in the last trimester of pregnancy. First side effects were tiredness which went away after the first 2 weeks. I think thats your body adjusting. Apart from that ve had no other side effects. All the best.

Hi I’m on 10mg of bisoprolol and have been for 6 months. I feel very fatigued all of the time and it’s been difficult to determine which of my meds, if any, are contributing to this. The first couple of months on bisoprolol were awful though as I had terrible insomnia. The pharmacist then told me to take it in the morning which cured the insomnia but led to me being very tired all day. I saw an EP cardiologist this week who said that in his opinion the bisoprolol was the likely culprit. I’ve got an appointment with the heart failure team next week so I’m going to pursue alternatives. Obviously we all have different reactions to meds and it may be perfectly fine for you. Hope everything works out well for you.
