Hi there. Yes I get regular palpitations. I don't know what brings them on and they are quite random, different times, then I don't have any for a couple of days.Sometimes I get them after my main meal, so I try to eat smaller ones. I don't eat spicy food or drink alcohol, no chocolate either, so I am stumped as to what causes them, quite worrying really.

Sometimes I get chest pain with them and have been to A &E a few times but my ECG's and bloods come back ok so they send me home.

I am awaiting a 3 day ECG to see if they pick up anything.

Most of us here do experience ectopics and palps to some degree or other and have had extensive tests to find the cause to no avail. They end up as common and harmless and we just have to get on with life.

Hello to you, hope this answer to your post finds you in the best your health can be at this moment.

Palpitations, just what does that mean? The reason I ask is that on a recent meeting with my heart nurse I told her that i thought that I was suffering from them. I described them as chest beats and fluttering.

After an ECG and various listenings she assured me that everything was going well with the pacemaker/bypass and with the heart {including medication} in general and at this stage she was very happy with things.

She thinks {backed up by the cardiologist a week later } is that I am very tuned into my heart { very common } at the moment and that seems a good explanation for me as when I have my quiet moment is when I can hear/ feel my heart more.

Its an odd feeling and feels to me like others have described “palpitations “ but seems mine are literally in my head and very convincing they are to.

This is not to say that if you think something is wrong you should always get it seen to, at the end of the day we all need our worries taken or explained away if possible

Take care

Yes I used to get them on a regular basis including SVTs very occasionally. I was prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol and it has almost eliminated them. They are mostly ectopic beats which are generally harmless but cause a little bit of anxiety.

Everyday buddy. All day long some days. As well as aniexity that they sometimes cause. Found that walking is best way to ignore them. Limit caffeine, alcohol
