Living with reduced EF long-term
HeyMy EF is 10-15% and has been like that for over a year now. I'm taking lots of medication but it hasn't improved. I do a fair bit of walking but can't jog/run and really struggle with inclines. I manage ok but from an exercise point it can be hard work.
Hi, I had a HA in January 2019, my EF is 35%, I must take into account that I have other serious health problems and am now 75yrs old but I have always been active and fit and I do find it very frustrating to have a limited level of energy. For instance I have to pay people to do house maintenance things I’d have done easily myself 5 years ago, I simply don’t have the stamina. I am aware I can’t join in with as many things, recently had to turn down a holiday with my brother as they are great walkers and I know now I couldn’t keep up as I get so breathless and I felt I would be a drag on them but it was nice to be asked.
But we are still here and must make the best of it.😸
1 million percent..Although I have a little bit more than just low EF but not doubt you circuitry system is unable to pump blood around body..And all depends how low it is..You feel lethargic tired most of time hardly any energy and exhausted duing/after and exercise or activity. Again symptoms vary down to your personal condition..My EF left pump is 30% and right EF 40% both reduced functions is also suffer with HF class 3 and LV thrombosis so again dependent on your own personal circumstances..I hope that helps.
Forgot to say 2019 December is had Massive Heart attack and been living since then with the Low EF...And symptoms as described..
HiI’ve lived a full life for over 15 years with 33% EF. Climbed mountains, done long walks etc. After complications with Covid earlier this year I’m now down to 18% EF but am still out walking just can’t do the hills anymore. I’m 59 now but was 43 when I initially had a SCAD and then a HA.
Hi there my ef is 40% , that kinda all I know about it . I get knackered after changing the bed . Yesterday, changed the bed , remade the bed , took a shower , cooked some lunches for my husband for the week then hung out the laundry to dry so I was totally exhausted. Sometimes even walking upstairs I have to stop before I get to the top .
Hi, I had a heart attack in Sep 21 (Aged 53) and now have heart failure with an LVEF 30%. I am currently trying a phased return to office work. I have always worked full time although I am beginning to accept that I may have to settle for part time. I have a terrible memory, poor concentration along with fatigue most afternoons. I am learning to pace myself doing jobs which does help and enjoying a 3 - 4 mile everyday! I am so thankful to still enjoy life and make the most of every day 😃 Don't forget you are amazing, 🥰 x
