I have HF and a pulse rate of 30 obvious ly I have a pacemaker but technition turned it off to see how heart was doing.Is heart rate the same as EF? and what do the initials actually stand for?I know there are a lot of very knowledgeable people out there who can explain it to me.Thank you

EF & HR are different. EF is ejection fraction & is used to measure the volume of blood that is ejected from your heart.
It`s all a mystery to me.I probably don`t ask the right questions,come to think of it,I don`t ask any questions!

Does the md give you paperwork? Education type? Usually broken down into a language we can semi understand? Then you can build your questions from there?
Thank you for replying.Have an appointment for October.I`ve never had much follow up treatment.I think I fell through the net for many years but since being diagnosed with cancer I`ll be having scans every six months and cardiology and oncology seem to be working together now,so that`s encouraging.Best wishes Jen
