I’m so close to the edge right now. My heart monitor failed to record for the THIRD time on Saturday morning. Unbelievable!. The ECG department opens again on Monday morning. I’m through the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and constantly being let down through failing equipment. I’ve been suffering irregular rhythms for two years and still not sorted. Not sure I can take much more

Dear DazzyB
So sorry to hear that you are suffering so on this Sunday morning.
We tend to put so much trust in our little electronic helpers that we forget that they are just machines and therefore are not fail-able.
I can understand the stress that this must put you under and this has to be addressed, but re-reading some of your other posts it appears that your journey has not been as straight forward as it could/should have been.
Only your medical team can answer the failing equipment problem and your concerns over your irregular heart beats.
I am just letting you know that you are not alone and that we are here to support you as best we can, anxiety and worry is the biggest time filler there is if you allow them to be.
Contact your Dr/heart team on Monday to get the answers you need, if you think that there is a problem with your health now, then contact 111 and follow their advice.
Take care
👍 Thanks for taking the time to reply. It means a lot. I’ll keep going and prey I finally get the monitor sorted tomorrow for the fourth time
I was under the Freeman for several years but was so unhappy with my treatment and lack of responses from Cardiology department that I requested a move to anotherHealth Authority. I still find it incredible that the unit appears to shut down at weekends. One cannot ensure that any problems will occur between 9-5 Mon -Fri. Trying to get queries answered is made more difficult as staff seem to be on leave or off sick most of the time…
