17 days post heart attack and still feeling rubbish. Am I just overthinking things or should I be feeling much better by now?

Am I wishful thinking?
'Feeling Rubbish' is a well- known stage in your recovery...very early days...do what they tell you but don't just sit and suffer..tell them regularly how you are feeling...it takes time you will need to make changes to your life but you will get better!
Dear Solesofhershoes,
So what if your wishful thinking, what you have gone through you deserve to have every one of those thoughts.
You are following a path that many on here have traveled { some still are } and the things that you are thinking/feeling are normal and believe me they will help you with your recovery, small steps, slow and surly.
Take care, you are never alone and we are here to help in anyway that we can.
Thank you blue hope you are well 🙂
Hello
Not sure if you have ever had flu but if you have and had it bad after 17 days you are still feeling rough and recovering
You have had a life changing event a heart attack and 17 days is nothing and there is no harm in wishful thinking but it is going to take a while and so we have to be patient we have to care for ourselves accept what we have just been though , listen to our bodies when they want to rest and not feeling great and slowly start taking little steps building ourselves back up and you will do but give yourself time you will get there x
Thank you for your support I hope you are well 🙂

HiI had my heart attack last April just before my 44th birthday. I can tell u from my experience 17days in i was wiped out by nearly everything. Its a mixture of the physical change to our heart plus the effects of the daily cocktail of new meds. Dont forget its also been a big shock mentally aswell.
Takr it easy and listen to your body. It will let you know when its ready to do more.
Take care and best wishes for recovery. Julie x
Thanks Jules it’s really nice to hear from other people. Hope your doing much better now. The meds are making me worse I’m sure! Dizzy, nausea, weird shooting pains in lady chest and head, the list goes on x
The beta blockers made me very dizzy at the start and i had to get the dose reduced. Eventually increased again but was able to cope with it. Just try to get up slowly for a while. I went back to work after 6 months. Still exhausted some times but generally ok and glad to be hear.
Xx
Hi Solesofhershoes,I had a heart attack last year and one stent fitted.
It just takes time for your body to recover from having a heart attack in the first place and then having a stent fitted. Just take it easy and rest when you feel tired. Don't push yourself too far and work with your cardio rehab team and GP. It is very early days for you, but things will get better I promise you. Take care.
It’s 10 weeks since my HA and stent, and haven’t been contacted by cardio rehab or Gp since.
That's scandalous! You need to start being pro-active and make a fuss!! Do it today!
I’ve tried contacting someone about rehab and was told they have a backlog and that I would be contacted soon, but that was about 3 weeks ago.
Unless you make a nuisance of yourself you will go to the back of the queue! I know you are probably feeling weak but please ring them at least once a week...
I have been in contact with hospital since your last reply and I’ve been told they are waiting for a cardiologist to interpret my echocardiogram, and he has to send it to my consultant before I can get follow up appointment etc. thank you but I’m actually feeling ok and I’m doing quite well with my own exercises, walking and cycling which is going ok. I am not too worried about my heart at the moment as I have other illnesses to worry about, but thanks for your concern and I hope you are well. Thanks Dave.
Hi Mtk. I was told by cardiac rehab nurse that bloods need to be checked after 8 weeks(cholesterol, kidneyand liver function) so het on to your gp and get that done while u are waiting for cardiac rehab. Good luck x
