Reading all these posts, the one word that keeps coming up is Anxiety! I find that very worrying!

Just a thought!
I mean the posts concerning Bisoprolol
Dear Organplayer
I agree with you that there seems more reaction to the drug Bisoprolol than many others.
I think that maybe its because it is one of the first drugs that are supplied after a diagnosis and so many suffer so with the side effects from it.
Many have learned that moving the dose and taking it in the evening can help {after asking their Heart team/Dr }
But its a powerful medication that has always had a controversial following, it has been without a doubt a life saver for many and a complete nightmare to many others.
I was lucky and had minimal reactions but then I am only on 1.25mg.
Take care
Hi blue. Have you personally tried moving to an evening dose? I ask because I wonder if the unrelenting tiredness (despite few other symptoms) could be alleviated this way. I understand all the caveats about speaking to GP etc, just interested in personal experiences. X
Dear Nettekin
It certainly took away that “paper bag over your head” feeling that I had been having, some call it brain fog, it sort of muffled the world really.
But I was lucky that was my only side effect on it and when mentioned to the nurse she straight away said try taking it with your evening meds, and it worked {for me}
Hope that helps
But please remember it will only be the people who have problems who bother to post.Just to put an opposite view - I take 2.5 mg bisoprolol in the morning, with absolutely no problems and it has pretty much stopped my ventricular ectopics. My husband takes the same dose and his only issue is cold extremities.
I also take 2.5 in the morning and the same at night, plus Rampiril twice daily an d Apixaban twice daily too, I have permanent AFib and AFlutter, heart failure and Stage 3 b CKD and believe it or not, apart from not having. Lot of energy I feel ok!! I am 85 years old and have all of the above for about 6 years!!!!!!
Last heart test, NtProBnAnything below 300 no heart failure,
Mine was 1518ng/L had to see cardiologist within two weeks!! Sorted ! Still ok!!!
Definitely! I have lived with CHD all my life and I am beginning to realise that I have NEVER been fully relaxed. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of old Victorian hospital corridors and an over-arching sense of tension and anxiety. However good you feel, I personally cannot escape being on tenterhooks awaiting the, "next big disaster." On balance I have been fortunate so far, but I have experienced trauma and and it makes you insecure. Unfortunately I have also had some interactions with health professionals that have left me feeling confused and also less than secure. It's funny how a 15 minute phone call can impact your psychological state for months after!
People say reducing stress and anxiety is one of the best things you can do for cardiac issues, but of course, it is a bitter irony that you cannot stop worrying about it! We all seek reassurrance....
