Night sweats

Good morning. Hope all well. Off Phenergan tabs 5 night now. Sleep 3 hrs then awake for 3 hrs then 1 more hr. I wake dripping in sweat after first sleep. Didn't have this when on Phenergan. I had it previously but been on Ovestin ( hrt for nearly 2 years). That really helped but I don't know what started all this again. Going on holiday in 4 weeks and don't want the embarrassment as staying 1 week with various family members. Telephone consultation with Cardiologist tomorrow. Should I mention it to him or try and see GP to discuss it with him. Enjoying reading all the posts. Have a good Sunday x

Hello :-)

I am sorry you are going through this

I went through the flipping menopause for years I thought it was never going to get any better and the night sweats well I would have fans all over the bedroom , window wide open you name it yet still would wake wet through and I feel for you as you are now on medications that can add to those sweats and sounds like they are doing so

I would personally mention it to my Consultant and Doctor if you can get to speak to them both then why not see what they can do to help you have nothing to lose my asking both of them but hopefully you will gain something by getting this sorted :-)

I hope you do get some help and can go on your Holiday and have a lovely time :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Good Luck and keep trying till you get it sorted :-) x

Dear Bishop1

Is this a hormone drug? Because if it is something similar happened to me.

I am on testosterone replacement therapy after having cancer and all was fine for many years, then my dr moved me to another brand {cheaper} and the problems started, night sweats etc etc.

When I questioned my Dr and pharmacist about it, both said that this can happen and moved me back onto the original supplier.

Strange but they were both the same strength, but totally different effects.

Hope this helps in anyway

Hi blue. Believe Phenergan is an anti histamine, antiemitic and an aid to insomnia (which is what this member was using it for)x

Thanks for your reply. Cardiologist telephone consultation tomorrow , I will ask him. Don't think he will be able to advise me as Ovestin prescribed by Urologist as having repeated UTI,s and got eurosepsis ( was very ill). I will try to get GP appointment to discuss the whole issue. Keep well and have a nice evening x
