I'm due to have a dopamine stress test on my heart in which I will be injected with dopamine to medically speed up my hr whilst I'm lying on the bed. I've also been told they could use atropine also.
Has anyone else had this done and has anyone any advice.
Thank you xx

Please do not worry about this test as it is painless and you will be guided through the procedure and told about each step of it.
You will feel the drug enter your body and its an odd sensation but as soon as you start to question it, it is over.
do not drink coffee etc {follow the guideline} and you will be fine I promise you, a sort of fluttering feeling and to be honest with you having the canola put in was the most painful part { big wimp that I am }
The information that they can get from this procedure is so important to help them know more about the functioning of your heart.
I have had this stress test, and as Blue1958 says it's quick, straightforward, & pain free. You are in very good hands, and just as a safeguard there is a doctor in attendance overseeing the procedure. Please don't worry, it's all over very quickly.
I have also had a treadmill test, which I found much more demanding.......
