Hi all,
I had a CT cardiac angiogram and Cor artery calcium scoring a couple of weeks ago. Can anyone advise on roughly how long it takes for the NHS to get back to you with the results please?
Thanks!

Times are likely to vary between Hospital Trusts and where you had it done. Your hospital is likely to have written to your GP, but that may not have happened yet, although you should be copied into any correspondence. Were you offered a follow up appointment and if so how far away is it? Failing all of that try to get hold of one of the medical secretaries in the cardio dept of your hospital and although they wont be able to give you any medical details or results, they might be able to tell you where you are in any queue.
Thanks for the advice LowerField, I don't have a follow up appointment so I will wait a bit longer then reach out if not heard anything.
Dear Judge_Dredd
You can always phone the secretary to the dept that did the tests and they will tell you if your results are back and when a specialist can read them for you.
Have you tried your GPs yet? They may already have an electronic result for you.
Mine took around the four week mark if that is any help.
Take care
Thanks for the reply Blue, its only been a couple of weeks since my tests so will leave it a bit longer then reach out if needs be.
Hi Judge
Even before what happened in the last two years, my fiancé waited at least a month-6 weeks for his CT scan results....
We are in a similar position (waiting for 72 hour heart monitor results) that so far have taken over 3 weeks.
All the waiting is a real stress isn’t it?
I’d say to call the department and have a chat, worst they can say is that the results aren’t ready yet. One of the tests my fiancé had we never received the copy of the letter and only found out when the GP mentioned the results! (the GP printed us out a copy as they’d also received one luckily.)
Hope everything’s ok and you get the results soon.
Hi Chickenlou, great to hear from you. Yeah, it is stressful as it seems to never end once you get on this path of heart issues. It seems the last two years has mainly revolved around my various heath issues which makes me feel guilty for the stress it's caused my wife and kids. It would be nice to have a year where the focus is on them and having fun!
Thanks for the advice, I will wait a bit longer then chase up if I don't hear anything. I hope you and your fiancee are doing well, take care of yourselves.
I know exactly what you mean “fun and even normal life” seems to take a back seat with everything that’s going on...same as you the last 3 years have been about my partner being ill, having surgery, getting over surgery and then getting ill again!
I’m sure your family feels exactly like me with my fiancé though and just wants everything sorted and better for you. We can’t do a lot of things we used to do at the moment (fiancé still waiting to see vascular surgeon due to problems with arteries in legs) but we try to do “normal” things as a couple as often as we can.
I’m convinced a time will come when life will get better for us and for you and your family.
Take care and keep us updated.
Hi Judge Dredd (i used to like his songs lol ) personally i would chase it up i had my ct angiogram on 24/11/2021 was toldwe will contact you if theres a problem never heard anything until 06/02/22 when consultant rang me out of the blue and said would like me to come in for angiogram which was done 5 days later . surprisingly i received a copy from the hospital 25/03/22 saying they found plaque and would need an urgent angiogram this letter was dated 12 days after i had it done !
Thanks Ada. I am going to leave it a little longer and then chase it up. I read your other post, I hope having your stent goes well.
thank you 👍
