I’m new to this forum. I have a history (over 3 years) of trying different meds to bring hbp down, about nine in all and all gave me varying life debilitating side effects. Two weeks ago I started 5mg Ramipril. At first all seemed ok although I feel lightheaded and unnaturally tired. Two days ago my vision started to get blurry (and it’s difficult seeing to write this). I wondered if anyone has experienced this on Ramipril? My doc is phoning in a weeks time. Do you think I should get in touch with her sooner?

Welcome to the forum Liz,I've not experienced any probs with ramipril personally, I started on 5mg and eventually up to 10 mg, so I took a look on "Dr Google's" pages and the advice there is contact your doctor tomorrow at the latest. Anything that you think could be affecting eyesight needs to be followed up. As it's Sunday and If you're concerned, phone NHS 111 for advice, just to be on the safe side. Good luck 👍
I was just going to reply and saw Griff-64 had said what I was going to say. So it's 111 today or GP tomorrow. Good luck - eye problems should never be ignored.
Hi there l to have blurred vision on rampril been on it for about 15months now still have it and watery eyes now and then the blurry vision is worse some days than others and sometimes goes away bit of a nightmare really but can't be bothered to start a different one might get worse side effects .
Thank you for your reply. I get very tired and lightheaded as well. Now the blurred vision stops me from seeing and reading. I was better on 2.5mg but bp was still high. I also spoke to a Boots pharmacist yesterday and she said it was rare to have blurry vision on Ramipril. I’ll call my doc for advice.Liz
I was on 10mgs of ramipril each day for a few years. The only side effects I had were tiredness and a dry cough. Because of the cough, the doctor took me off of it and I now take candersartan.
