David Boggs RIP

David Boggs has died at the age of 71. Many of you will rightly say what has this to do with me.

Firstly David was together with Bob Metcalfe the inventor of the Internet. A major part of this was the concept of "packets" which mad for reliable data transmission. Without it there would not be this forum, emails, Google, etc.

Secondly he was a fellow heartie and died from heart failure.

RIP David - your contribution to my working life was unmeasureable...

Hi Michael, sorry to hear of the death of David Bloggs. A contributor to all of our lives through his life’s work with the internet. For you, it is always sad to lose a friend. I thought from his photo, a man with very kind eyes, thoughts go to you and his family. I do hope he didn’t suffer too long.We are fortunate when our tickers are behaving well aren’t we?

No I didn't know him personally but he touched on many areas of my work over the years.

Dear MichaelJH

It is a sad moment but just think of what his legacy has given us all.

How fantastic to have lived a life as he, just a shame it was not for longer.

The brighter the burn the quicker the fuel is used up

R.I.P Mr David Boggs and thank you, for you have made sure with your invention that people like me need never be alone again.
