Hello all.

I kindly had support from you when I was extremely anxious about my dads upcoming Herat bypass . Well he had the procedure at the Royal Papworth yesterday( longest day of my life) . Was able to come off the ventilator last night and he has been sat in a chair for a short while today . I know he has a way to go in his full recovery . But just wanted to say thanks so much for the time you had all taken to reply to my concerns . I’m sure I’ll have more questions to ask along his road of recovery . But for now thank you xxx

Your dad will have to take it slowly. But also while he is being looked after, make sure you look after yourself, you will need more strength later on. Take care. Moni

Dear Concerned2021

Thank you for your update about your Dad, I wish him a speedy recovery and the same for you as I know this has been a bad time for you as well.

All it does is prove your love for your Dad, but please remember to take time for yourself. Its not a selfish thing, you deserve it.

Take care

Thanks so very much , he was in some pain last night but wasn’t quite 48 hours after the op . So he’s on morphine to help . He has been moved from ICU to HDU now and Papworth are taking good care of him . He has a big family network to help as well . Praying this gives him the new lease of life he deserves xx

He’s in the best hands. That’s where I had mine 6+ years ago. He just needs to do everything they tell him going forward and I’m sure he’ll be fine. Good luck.

Thanks. Yes think it’s hit him harder than he realised but it’s early days . I’ve told him he must do as they say ! 😃 xx
