I'm half way through reading the above and what a brilliant and funny book it is.
Bob writes a lot about his journey from being told he had heart disease all the way through to his rehabilitation and recovery, if your like me you will find it rings a lot of truth and reminds you of the emotions you have gone through on your journey.
A great read, it would also be useful for your loved ones to read it.
I’m nearly through reading this too- there is a great sentence in the book before he embarks on his 1st live show that really resonated with me (won’t give it away as it’s nearer the end!!). Have loved the Gone Fishing TV programme- not for the fishing but their chats particularly in 1st season about hearts & recovery. What a funny & heartfelt autobiography this is.
I read that part last night Gail, I was gob smacked at his heart rate....I've been set a target range when exercising of 99 to 114 beats per minute.....even after 5 minutes of lindy hop at yesterday afternoons dance class I only hit 105.
Have you seen Mortimer and whitehouse gone fishing on the bbc that covers a lot of what they when through and their diets and fitness all while whithouse tries to teach Bob how to fish
Afternoon Brand, have you seen the one where he said he did his own dental work 😂 on Would I Lie to You? I nearly feel off my chair I was laughing so hard.
Yes, I did, and like you - almost wet myself. Still watch some of his appearances on YouTube just to brighten my day - he really is an accomplished comedian/ actor 👍
Have a kindle and when in hospital and for a while after, downloaded my books but have gone back to proper paper books something about holding and smelling the paper. Hope you’re doing better.
John can’t read like you anymore in print he copes with the iPad up to a point. Anything that comes in the post I have to read to him. Sometimes life really does kick us in the teeth! One of his pleasures was his morning paper starting at the back and reading everything until he got to the front page head lines!
