I wonder if you were put on beta blockers which slow everything down including breathing. We yawn because we are not taking in enough oxygen maybe that is the reason.
Not much you can do apart from seeing if they can reduce the strength of your beta blockers that is if you are on one.
Hi Surjit42. I’m 6 months post HA, angioplasty and stent in RCA. I find I get very tired at unusual times of the day and this makes me yawn unexpectedly. I also find myself catching my breath quite a lot which I think is a sign of the blood medication. So yes I don’t think the yawning is uncommon, particularly as your body heals and readjusts. Blood pressure spikes may be caused by some levels of anxiety at different times of the day. Anxiety gives me some physical chest sensation that then increases my anxiety like a vicious circle. take care.
Yawning is contagious and now I have caught it from reading your message :)) ECG is ok. Take a deep breath, relax and forget about the Y word.
