Hi. Has anyone have/had high blood pressure that was caused by taking Lansoprazole?
I’ve been on Lansoprazole for gastric reflux for about four months. My bp is very high.(150/120) I’m already taking 7.5 Ramipril. I didn’t think about the Lansoprazole. A friend suggested that it could be that. I have looked on line and there is some suggestion that Lansoprazole can cause higher bp in some people. I am being assessed by my gp. But with things being the way they are, she is very busy and it is almost impossible to get to talk to her. When I do she just throws meds at the problem. The one thing I do know is that my bp went up after starting the Lansoprazole. I would really like to hear if anyone else has experienced this.
Thank you.

This is a drug that many of us get prescribed when having heart issues and having to take other meds including BP meds to help protect our stomachs
I know Consultants , Surgeons and Doctors use this often and would find it hard to believe if it was well known for rising BP they would put so many heart patients on them
I do know it can disagree with people in other ways but personally I have never come across anyone saying it has raised their BP x
Hi there! I've been on Lansoprazole 30mg twice daily for about a year and 30mg one daily before that for 10 years but never had high blood pressure with these. I do hope you find out the cause maybe just rule out other things too?
Always just go see GP because as you probably know lots of things here are opinion and personal experience. We're all different.
Hi My bp has also been on the high side and I can’t put my finger on the cause. I’ve been on lansoprazole for over a year and take 15mg-30mg. I’ve had an ECG and Echocardiogram to rule out issues with my heart. I’m wondering if it’s the Lansoprazole too.
