Morning all. I’m 67 and have recently had 2 stays in hospital. Before Christmas I was in with pneumonia and an unusually fast heart rate (150). Three antibiotics, loads of fluid and a single dose of 1.25 Bisoprolol and I was out in 6 days. At New Year I was in again with just the fast heart rate and there was no sign of infection, so an unknown cause of sinus tachycardia, and am now on 2.5 Bisoprolol. I have never had heart issues. I do have mild COPD (never smoked) and have a weakness for getting pneumonia.
My O2 level is generally 93/94 however since taking Bisoprolol my HR is between 50-60 at rest and my O2 is often 96/97. I wondered whether anyone else had experienced this.
Thanks for reading this.

In my opinion your heart rate and oxygen levels are excellent so I would say the medication is doing it’s job. As always check with your GP if this was the target
I was on 2 5 then increased to 3.75 of bisoprolol. My resting heart rate is between 60/70 which is what it's supposed to be for me. My O2 is anything from 96 to 100%. Bisoprolol I was told lowers your blood pressure and heart rate. I'm told these figures are great for me maybe contact your GP for confirmation of your sats. Take care ❤️
I didn't know what my O2 was before my diagnosis. I have asthma too and at the time had covid. I was breathless but over time it seems to have improved. The cardiologist said the bisoprolol and candesartan may effect my asthma maybe it did to begin with but now I can do alot more without taking my ventolin reliever. I'm also on candesartan and spironolactone. Can't be sure what's improved it but I'm happy my O2 is as good as it is. ☺️
